June Goals - Update

Last Friday, I posted a blog about goals that I was working toward in the month of June. The first goal was to stop drinking soda. That didn't happen, but I am happy to say that I have drank less soda than I usually do, so I'm hoping that is a step in the right direction.

My second goal was the 30 for 30 challenge about spending 30 minutes everyday in the month of June playing with your children. I am happy to say that I have been able to make sure that I play with them every day! I haven't actually timed it, so I don't know if I've hit 30 minutes exactly but I have made the effort to play with them and spend time with them every day.

My third goal was to cut out fast food. We have done really well with this goal. We have still eaten out a few times, but not every day which, unfortunately, we had been doing for the few weeks prior. I actually cooked dinner last night! My husband is a fabulous cook and loves to do it, so whenever he has time he likes to make dinner, which unfortunately has spoiled me and gotten me lazy with meal planning.

All this goal setting got me thinking about how it is good to set goals, even if you don't achieve them. It gives us something to strive toward and work on.

Did you set goals for this month, year, etc? How are you doing in regards to those goals? I welcome all of your comments. :)

  1. Great job!!! You are doing better than if you hadn't set the goal. Does anyone else in your house drink soda? Do you still have it in the house? It might help to get it out of the house. Just saying. Love you bestie!

    1. Yes Clark loves soda too. Actually we try not to keep it in the house, but we get a bad craving and run out for one.

  2. You're right about striving toward those sometimes unmet goals. Best wishes on giving up the pop. Once you do, you will feel so accomplished! (Knowing from experience!)

  3. Baby steps are awesome - and before you know it you'll be there! I tried to stop drinking sweet tea cold and it was so hard that I caved. Much better to take it slow :)

    Happy Saturday!!

  4. I just wanted to say that while it was not on my #3in30 list, I too have given up soda this month. I did it last year for 40 days and both times I had much more success when I quit cold turkey. This is coming from someone who does not drink coffee and easily drank 4-6 servings of soda per day! My biggest struggle this time is finding other things to drink without drinking 1000 more calories per day :) This week I plan to flavor my water more with lemon, etc. You can do it! http://skipperclan.com/2011/04/25/kicking-the-can-a-diet-soda-story/
